This stately white villa was built around the year 1900 where the managers of the local factory “Vieille Montagne” resided for decades. In 1992 the mansion became a restaurant/hotel. The authentic atmosphere has been carefully guarded during the renovation of the building.Accommodation and prices
Because there are only five rooms, the guests in this great mansion will experience an enormous sense of privacy. All the rooms are spacious and decorated with Art Déco furniture and have a private bathroom with shower and/or bath, as well as an internet connection.
A hearty breakfast with fresh fruit-juice, warm croissants, French brioches and different cheeses is served in a room on the first floor overlooking the landscaped garden.
The renowned restaurant Hippocampus is joined with the prestigious Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe as well as Belgian Chefs de Cuisines and the host and chef de cuisine Francis Scheyvaerts belongs to the top of European gastronomy. For his dishes he uses a selection of fresh ingredients, preferably regional. Some of his specialties is steamed pike-perch with marmalade of tomatoes and pesto of basil or fried quail with blackberry sauce and glazed red fruit with lavender honey and vanilla ice-cream.
On cold winter days the hot open fireplace will welcome the guests.
On beautiful summer days the table is set on the terrace overlooking the magnificent pond with water lilies.

MolHippocampus is situated in the hart of the Kempen. The vicinity is an oases of tranquility with possibility for many relaxed forest walks or sportive cycling tours. Golfers can choose between two nearby golf courses, the ‘Kempense’ and the ‘Postelse’. Also the ‘Norbertijn’ Abbey in afforested Postel is definitely worth a visit.
