The Münsterland is known for its castles and fortresses and has a good number of very old and beautiful ones. The history of the 'Hohe Haus', with its stone façade, stylish Knights Hall and vaulted cellar, goes back to the 14th century. The present form dates from 1600. In the course of time, the castle has known several noble residents. Since 1905 the Von Bönninghausen family, who to this day are responsible for its maintenance, owns the country estate. In principle the castle is not accessible to guests. The corresponding Wachtmeisterhaus, a smaller detached building next to the castle, was converted into a stylish bed and breakfast in 2007. Here, guests have the whole place to themselves.Accommodation and prices

In the conservatory, overlooking the surrounding meadows and fields, guests can read a book or have a drink.

Münster with a variety of shops, museums and monuments, pubs and terraces is literally a stone's throw away. In the vicinity several restaurants in different price ranges offer guests the opportunity to have lunch or dinner.
