This wonderful villa was designed in the early last century by the architect H.T. Zwiers, and has clear characteristics of the Amsterdam School. The Department of Public Works had the house originally built as a semi-detached building for senior staff working on the Enclosure Dam (Afsluitdijk). When the dam was completed the villa was transformed into a youth hostel. This listed building, which is situated directly on the Wadden Sea, was turned into a sturdy and luxurious bed and breakfast in 2011. In the complete silence of the secret Frisian island of Wieringen birds and endless scenery can be enjoyed. A private path across the dike leads directly to the tidal flats.Accommodation and prices
Old English (sea) colours, Lloyd Loom or Spalding furniture, exclusive wallpaper with sea decorations, antique chandeliers and hand-painted whites, a garden stretching to the foot of the dike, the beautiful thatched roof.
All this brings guests back to the atmosphere of a nostalgic villa.
Villa Nieuwland has three spacious new rooms with private bathrooms.
The rooms have comfortable beds, a kitchenette with Nespresso coffee machine, water boiler, fridge, safe, sitting area, TV and wireless internet.
The bathrooms have heated floors and classic Duravit equipment with bath and shower.
Two rooms are double rooms.
The family room can accommodate five people.
Breakfast is served in the cozy breakfast room on the ground floor, where the fully equipped kitchen is.
As the rooms are situated in one half of the house privacy is guaranteed, and therefore it can be rented as a holiday accommodation for up to nine people.
Price per person per night € 50, - with a minimum stay of two nights based on two persons per room. Breakfast is included.

Den OeverWieringen is located close to the Enclosure Dam and is also called ‘the secret island’. This virtually unknown paradise for lovers of peace, space, nature and culture, is located right on the flats, and at a stone's throw from the Randstad area. Wieringen has kilometers of farm roads with endless biking and hiking routes, while at the same time mudflats can be explored and seals can be discovered.
