From the originally 15th century Allersmaborg, Groningen shows its most beautiful side. When the visitor passes the bridge, he imagines himself in another world.Next to the beautiful Allersmaborg is the " clerk house”. This building has been designed as an apartment offering a unique accommodation. The clerk house was built in the 19th century by the then owner Mr R.M.A. de Marees van Swinderen who was the notary at Ezinge. Between the dovecote and the house he built this building for his office clerk. Attached to it, where previously was the dovecote, an arbour was built.
For centuries the Allersmaborg was privately occupied. In 2005 the University of Groningen acquired the building in leasehold, followed by an extensive renovation in 2007. In cooperation with the Allersmaborg Foundation Joke Poppema manages the building, which is also used to for business meetings, weddings, celebrations and parties.
Accommodation and prices
The clerk house has been designed as a guest apartment. Peace, space and scenery are the keywords here.
The apartment has a separate bedroom, living room (with sofa bed, table with chairs and ornamental fireplace), kitchen and bathroom with bathtub. The kitchen is equipped with a stove and a refrigerator, cookware and tableware, coffeemaker and water boiler.
In the arbour guests can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful garden in summer.
Next to the house is an orchard with apples and pears. There is a bench where guests can sit and enjoy when the weather is nice.
Breakfast is served in the room.

EzingeThe Allersmaborg is located in a meander of the Reitdiep between Ezinge and Garnwerd. The city of Groningen is only 25 minutes by car. There is also plenty to enjoy in the direct vicinity. From the Allersmaborg many walks can be made through the typical landscape of Groningen. About 25 km from Ezinge is Lauwersoog and the Lauwers lake area. From the port of Lauwersoog guests can take a one day ferry trip to Schiermonnikoog. The Lauwers lake offers beautiful nature, while there is also a beach where you can swim in summer. There are also various possibilities for water sports activities. Canoeing is also possible in the surrounding Reitdiep and other canals. There are also characteristic villages with museums and various restaurants, including Michelin-starred restaurants in the nearby Aduard and Leens.
