The history of Amby (the Maastricht area where ‘Hof van Huntjens’ is established) goes back centuries. It was occupied as early as 1000 BC. It would go a bit too far to claim that the history of this farm goes back as far as that. But the building, dating from 1750, is old indeed.
In those days the farm also used to offer accommodation to the mayor of the formerly independent village of Amby, because of its location next to the old town hall. Milkman Huntjens was the last occupant. As the last of the Mohicans he sold his milk by horse and wagon.
Under the direction of the current owner a major renovation was launched in 2009, gradually paving the way for the wonderful restaurant and four suites that are located here.

Accommodation and prices
The restaurant on the ground floor is divided into two rooms, has 50 seats and has a warm atmosphere.
In the former milk room is the bar, where a draft beer can go with tapas for instance.
The stylish vaulted cellar is perfect for a wine tasting event or a private meeting or dinner.
When the weather is nice the two sunny terraces can be enjoyed.
Limburg regional products from the kitchen go hand in hand with lavish hospitality.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

On the floors four very complete luxury suites for 2 up to 6 people were created.
The total capacity is sufficient for 20 people.
All suites vary in size, layout and design.
Facilities like a luxurious bathroom (with or without bath), kitchen, spacious beds, separate seating areas, a TV and DVD player and for example internet access are provided.
Also families with children will feel more than at home here.
Ingredients for an extensive breakfast will be prepared on request. Bread rolls come from the bakery and are delivered in the morning.

At ‘Hof van Huntjens’ both the advantages of the city and the natural beauty of the South Limburg scenery can be fully enjoyed. The night bus, which stops in front of the door, takes visitors into the heart of Maastricht in no time. Because of the location of Amby at the far eastern side of town, walking and cycling tours through the hills and scenery are possible. A trip to Liege, Aachen and Tongeren is also convenient from here.
