The history of the Hamlet ter Maarsch dates back to the 15th century. In 1721 a clergyman and a daughter of the Maarsingh family founded the farm 'Huis ter Maarsch". Impressive old oak rafters support the roof of the barn where a barn-owl makes his home every year. Until recently, Huis ter Maarsch was strictly used for agricultural purposes. Nowadays, Edward van Vugt, who is a master craftsman in carpentry, and Ingrid Aarsman produce exclusive wood interiors on the premises.Accommodation and prices
The old cornloft (part of the living quarters of the house) has been totally refurbished and now contains a flat of 100m2 (300 sq ft) with a private entrance. It is furnished with two comfortable beds (2.20m), a modern kitchen and a full bathroom.
The loft can be rented for one night, or weekly (and makes for a perfect retreat).
€ 140.00 per night.
Weekly (5 nights) € 600.00.
The refrigerator comes stocked with provisions for a hearty breakfast.

For the "Nature Lover", there are various walking and biking routes also starting directly from "Huis ter Maarsch".
