De Eikengaarde, a noble Saxon farm from about 1650, is wonderfully located on the green in Valthe. Both the farm with the beautiful thatched roof and the extension were recently firmly and luxuriously restored. Also the 5-acre park-like garden with ancient trees has been thoroughly arranged.

Accommodation and prices
During the extensive restoration, the old barn was converted into a luxurious and very spacious charming guesthouse.
As this building is detached and has its own entrance, privacy is absolutely guaranteed.
On the ground floor is a large garden room with kitchen. There is also a separate toilet.
On the first floor are two bedrooms and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.
Moreover, there is a large living area including fitted kitchen with various appliances.
Facilities such as TV and wireless internet are also available.

The house offers ample space for a group of 2 to 6 persons.
Breakfast (or all ingredients for it) on request.
Also a bottle of wine or beer, coffee, tea and soft drinks are present.  

€ 120.00 for 2 persons excluding breakfast.
Third up to sixth guests € 40.00 per person per night.

Valthe
The scenery around Valthe consists of ashes and small woodlots. From the De Eikengaarde are various cycling and walking routes, including the Saxon route. Emmen is 6 km away, and apart from the Zoo also offers a lively centre with weekly markets, and butterfly markets in summer. This part of Drenthe province, with the city of Groningen and the German / Dutch border nearby, has plenty of attractions and activities to offer. 5 golf courses are less than half an hour away.
