It was love at first sight between this beautiful farmhouse and Jolanda and Peter. The garden, the view, the location far away from mass tourism, and the surroundings: everything was just right.
That is why five rooms were created to allow guests to share in the experience. All are spacious and have a private bathroom, are atmospheric, equipped with comfortable beds, complete with a seating area, and three rooms also feature extra beds so they can serve as family rooms.
An extensive breakfast is included. Consisting of, among other things, homemade jam, cheese, cold cuts, a freshly baked croissant, apple juice made from their own apples, and a fresh (boiled or fried) egg from the house chickens. There is also an honesty bar with various (non-)alcoholic drinks, and fine regional wines are available at reasonable prices.
Table d’hôtes is offered no less than six days a week, featuring organic vegetables from the host's own garden or the market, as well as organic free-range meat from the village farm. Upon request, you can also order a delicious picnic basket with all kinds of regional products. And if you wish to dine out, there are several restaurants to choose from.
The farmhouse of yesteryear is surrounded by a beautiful garden with a stunning view that can be enjoyed from the terrace or the hammock.
La maison du Cerf is located 720 km from Breda and far away from mass tourism. There are several charming towns in the surrounding area. The rolling landscape is perfect for hiking, cycling, or mountain biking. There are three large lakes where you can swim, wakeboard, waterski, and canoe, as well as several golf courses. Wineries, museums, castles and monasteries, gardens, and, not to forget, various markets are also among the possibilities. Cities such as Bourges, Chateauroux, Montlucon, and La Châtre are easily accessible.
