In a like styled annex is a guestroom. The bright coloured apartment has two storeys. Downstairs are the living room with open kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Upstairs are a double and a single room, with an extra toilet. The guesthouse comes with cooking facilities, a microwave oven, refrigerator, television set, wireless internet, cd-player and underfloor heating. All rooms are non-smoking.
Close by are woods, heath land and peat areas in both The Netherlands and Germany. There are many cross-border routes for walking, cycling and driving. Culture, attractions, restaurants and places of entertainment can be found in towns like Emmen, Coevorden, Lingen (Germany) and Meppen (Germany).
History Already in 1654 the Wilms’ Boo in Nieuw-Schoonebeek is mentioned. At that time tens of ‘boo’s’ were in the area bordering the Netherlands and Germany. Most of the time part of the herd of oxen stayed at a ‘boo’, a stable made out of wood and reed about ten kilometres from the central farm. The many former ‘boo’s’ disappeared. Wilmsboo is the only one left. In 2008 the building was fully renovated and became a place for working and living. Naturally in the authentic style with the characteristic oak beams, oak walls and thatched finishing. The modern Wilmsboo is a unique monument at a historical location, very close to the German border.
Terwijl storm Ciara over Nederland trok, zaten wij een weekend in Wilmsboo. Heerlijke plek, rustig, prachtig uitzicht en de hond kon mee.. Gebruik gemaakt van de aanbevolen wandelingen uit het boek met tips. Bij de tips stond ook of het wandelingen waren waar de hond los mocht of aangelijnd moest xijn. Wij maakten gebruik van het arrangement met diner bij restaurant Wollegras. Echt een aanrader, ook daar mocht hond mee. Kortom Wilmsboo is een hele fijne plek

Wij zijn in juli 2013 een weekend in De Wilmsboo geweest. Het is een geweldig leuke, rustige en mooie omgeving. Wat een rust. Heerlijk om even een paar dagen bij te tanken. De Wilmsboo leent zich prima voor een langer verblijf (b.v. een week). Peter en Saskia zijn ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kortom een echte aanrader!
