This enchanting holiday home, situated on a centuries-old sunken road, offers ample space and comfort for up to fourteen guests. From the kitchen and living room you have a beautiful view of the forests and meadows of the Zwalm valley. Only the call of an owl will be heard at night and otherwise there is absolute silence. That makes this an ideal place for anyone who loves peace and quiet.
The holiday home was restored and furnished with infinite passion for people, nature and heritage, and on the ground floor, due account was also taken of literally everyone who is less mobile.
The furnishings are contemporary and serene, but there is absolutely no lack of modern comfort. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, combi oven, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, mixer and much more and there is also a supply of basic herbs, oil, coffee and sugar. In the living room you will find a fireplace, two sitting areas, books and board games and a television and Bluetooth radio. For the little ones there is a table with drawing materials, children's books, puzzles and games. There is also a spacious, accessible room with its own bathroom on the ground floor.
On the mezzanine there is another sitting area and you will also find an extremely comfortable sofa bed. On the first floor there are two more spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms.
For the nice days, the private garden with terrace awaits you overlooking the forest. There is also a wood-fired barrel sauna and an outdoor shower, a fire basket and a mobile bench.
Walking and cycling routes take you through the beautiful nature of the Flemish Ardennes. Sualma is located in Paulatem, 1 of the 12 Zwalm villages, a stone's throw from Zottegem, Oudenaarde or Brakel. Bruges, Ghent and Brussels are also easily accessible.
HistorySualma was originally built in 1769 as the farmhouse of a closed farm and was carefully and lovingly restored from 2022-2024 with ecological materials. Architectural accents brought light and space into the house. In addition, the ground floor was made accessible to anyone with reduced mobility. This renovation gave the house its soul - su alma - back. It opened its doors to guests in the autumn of 2024.
