‘The Hof ter Heebeke is hidden deep in the wonderful Westhoek. On the edge of the drowned meadows along the Heidebeek, a tributary of the Yser, everything exudes tranquility.' The website welcomes you and you are immediately sold.
The two spacious guest rooms are in the main house. Authentic and romantic atmosphere, loved by couples and those seeking tranquility, complete with all the necessary modern comforts such as WiFi, TV, minibar, hairdryer. The rooms are both for two people and both offer extra space for a third person or two children and a baby cot can be added. Of course there is also a private full bathroom for each room.
Breakfast is served indoors and consists of traditional farm butter, farm yogurt, farm cheeses, creamy milk, fresh eggs, homemade jam, varied fruit and oven-baked bread. You can make tea and coffee to your heart's content in the breakfast room and, if the weather is nice, you can have breakfast outside. Also for beautiful days there is also the lovely swimming pond that is one with the landscape around. In addition, there is the hot tub that can also be used in winter.
The oven house has a bar where you can chat together while enjoying a regional beer on the terrace with a view of the butterfly garden.
And then there are the animals of the house: chickens, Juliaan the rooster, a herd of sheep and goats, cats, dog Myre and the Flemish horses that will gladly take you on a carriage ride through the natural splendor of the green Yser Valley.
In the Westhoek you can walk and cycle, ride horses and go sailing. Gourmets can also indulge themselves here, while the unique beer culture is famous. Stavele is surrounded by cultural-historical cities such as Poperinge with its hoppe, Ypres and Diksmuide with their war past, Lo with its Caesarsboom and Veurne near the coast. The seaside resort of Koksijde, Oostduinkerke, Nieuw-poort, Sint-Idesbald are 20 km away. Moreover, you are in no time in northern France where all kinds of coastal villages can be visited.
HistoryThis square farm dates from the 19th century and goes back generations in the same family. Each generation signed for maintenance and progress, but the atmosphere of that time remained unchanged.
De aankomstdag:
De kaarsjes branden in het binnenhuis of we zoeken de schaduw op onder het overdekt terras in de Vlindertuin. Bij een dampende kop koffie of thee, een fris streekbiertje maken we kennis vanaf 16u. 's Avonds worden de voetjes lekker onder de tafel geschoven worden voor een aperitiefje, een huisbereide schotel met een flesje wijn, een koffietje met versnapering.
De volgende dag:
Na een nachtje zoete dromen staat er u een heerlijk, ambachtelijk ontbijt te wachten. Op een rustig plekje in de ochtendzon kan er nagenoten worden van een lekker tasje koffie en een krantje. Afhankelijk van uw voorkeur, trekt u er -gewapend met een goed gevulde picknick- te voet of per fiets op uit (een niet-elektrische fiets staat voor u klaar - elektrisch kan op aanvraag) in de ongerepte IJzervallei. Avontuurlijke zielen wagen een ritje op de tandem. Een begeleidende wandel- of fietskaart of een voor u persoonlijke uitgestippelde fietstocht gidsen u door het weidse landschap. De Westhoek voordeelpas biedt u tal van reducties aan bij bezienswaardigheden in de streek.
Bij het boeken van het Verwen arrangement kan er gekozen worden voor een twee uur durende off-road koetstocht -met gastheer als menner en gastvrouw als groom- doorheen de Puydebroeken of voor een ongelimiteerde puur natuur wellness beleving in de houtgestookte hottub met zwemvijver in de vlindertuin. De combinatie van het warme water en de koude buitentemperaturen en fris water, is erg gezond en uitermate ontspannend. Bij beide keuzes horen er uiteraard bubbels en toebehoren (dekentjes, zonnehoed, slippers, handdoeken, badjassen). We overleggen vooraf wel eventjes wanneer de koetstocht of hottub sessie best doorgaat, afhankelijk van de weergoden.
's Avonds verwacht de Chef van een gezellig en nabijgelegen restaurant u voor een culinair 3-gangen 'Verwenmenu Hof ter Heebeke' om duim en vingers van af te likken.
