The expansive meadows surrounding the farm offer an impressive diversity of meadow birds and other wildlife. And the UNESCO Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, with the village of Holwerd, from where the ferry to Ameland departs, is nearby. Nearby, you'll also find the charming and northernmost Elfstedenstad (Eleven Cities) town of Dokkum, easily accessible by bike along the Dokkumer Ee river. HistoryTerpboerderij Jannum is located in Jannum, the smallest terp village in the world. And the most beautiful! This monumental head-neck-rump farmhouse was built here almost 150 years ago. Between 2018 and 2019, the farmhouse was fully restored and renovated under architectural supervision, while preserving its historic and characteristic features.
