Mantgum is located in the triangle of Heerenveen, Sneek, and Leeuwarden, 9 km southwest of Leeuwarden. Urban entertainment is therefore available if required. The village itself is quiet and surrounded by meadows, woods and water. It is the right place for nature lovers, peace seekers and water sports enthusiasts. History "Lyts Canaan" (Little Canaan) was once the popular name for the village Mantgum, Canaan in the sense of "land of milk and honey". Between 1860 and 1910 wealthy retired farmers had the most beautiful houses built in Mantgum. The front part of the farmhouse was built according to this architectural style and dates from the early last century. The original stables are significantly older. The whole complex was completely renovated in 2010/2011.
