If you like history and comfort, this mill is definitely the place to be. Because the mill dates from 1882 and offers four luxurious lofts located in the monumental mill. The lofts opened their doors to guests in September 2024 after an intensive renovation of more than two years in which nothing was left to chance. And then we haven't even mentioned the beautiful nature of the Gelderse Achterhoek.
But first, let's talk about the lofts. They each have their own character and design and each offer ample space for two adults (unfortunately, the design is not suitable for children). Two lofts are on the ground floor and have a private terrace in the courtyard. The other two are on the first floor and have a balcony overlooking the courtyard.
Furthermore, each loft has a complete bathroom with walk-in shower, extremely comfortable and spacious box springs, a kitchen unit with hob, fridge and dishwasher and a comfortable sitting area with TV.
Breedenbroek is a small village near Dinxperlo, about 3 km from the German border and not far from Doetinchem. This beautiful area of the Gelderse Achterhoek is ideal for cycling tours and long walks that lead through picturesque villages and various nature reserves.
HistoryThe host Wilma's great-grandfather built the Kempermolen in 1882 and added the mill in 1889. As an interior designer, Wilma has stylishly designed and tastefully decorated the lofts. Husband Hans is the miller of the Kempermolen and regularly operates the mill. He also works in construction and has therefore been able to largely realise the renovation of the recreational lofts himself. Hans will be happy to give you a tour of the monumental mill if desired.
