Just imagine: a fully restored national monument farmhouse/sexton's house containing an art studio where traditional painting and drawing techniques are used, utilizing paint sourced from the dye garden across the street.
That alone sounds like a treat. And to think that the old sexton's house is also beautifully furnished as a holiday accommodation for up to four guests. They have their own entrance and private garden where a fire can be lit if it is a bit chilly, and where it is lovely to relax on beautiful days with a book and a drink. Inside, there are two atmospheric bedrooms with comfortable double beds, a beautiful breakfast room with a small kitchenette where a simple meal can be prepared—a 2-burner and 1-burner hob are available—and a complete bathroom. Breakfast is not included here.
De Heerlijkheid is part of an old farmhouse in Bokhoven, a national monument, located right next to the 14th-century village church. The building was constructed on the remains of an earlier farmhouse. Various traces of this are still visible, both on the exterior and inside. The property was used as a farm until the 1990s.
