Schoorl, perhaps the friendliest village on the North Holland coast, has the highest and widest dunes in the country.

Mountain bikers can indulge themselves here. Just as good as cyclists and walkers. Because it is not for nothing that Schoorl is a National Park with more than sixty kilometers of hiking trails that lead through heathland, through forests, along the bird lake and over the sometimes five kilometer wide dunes.

De Kerf is also unique: a natural cove in the dunes where seawater can flow in at high tide, so that the green woodpecker and the rare nightjar feel very much at home here and white orchids bloom everywhere in the summer months. In addition to all that natural beauty, cities such as Alkmaar, Schagen and Hoorn are easily accessible.
