Can you picture it? An 18th-century pavilion, situated in a quiet area overlooking the Scheldt River, brimming with comfort and ambiance, and surrounded by nothing but nature? That's what you can expect at Paviljoen de Notelaer.

Here you'll stay in a place where history comes to life, as evidenced by the impressive dome and the original parquet floor made with eight types of wood. The pavilion accommodates six people, with three stylish and spacious bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom with a rain shower and private sauna. The authentic dining room and lounge guarantee a cozy get-together. The state-of-the-art kitchen with a cooking island is fully equipped. On sunny days, the terrace and garden await.

From April through October, you can enjoy an afternoon drink on the pleasant garden terrace of the non-profit organization De Notelaer, which organizes exhibitions and cultural activities on the estate. This terrace is located in the publicly accessible garden of Pavilion De Notelaer, overlooking the impressive reflecting pond.

Surroundings

From the pavilion, you can walk or cycle straight into the natural landscape of the Scheldt. This region is known for its peaceful, flat trails, crisscrossed by rivers, forests, and cultural heritage, making it perfect for those who want to actively enjoy nature. Nearby, you'll find an old ferry, where cyclists and hikers can cross from one bank of the Scheldt to the other.

History

Between 1792 and 1797, Duke d'Ursel commissioned an elegant pavilion as a summer residence on the Scheldt. The magnificent domed hall, the breathtaking view of the Scheldt, and the refined symmetry made De Notelaer a popular meeting place for the nobility. Today, the Duke's former country estate offers a wonderful place to stay. The pavilion has been completely renovated with respect for its history and attention to detail, ensuring every modern comfort is fully included.
