At Hotel Caelus VII, housed in a stylish, meticulously renovated mansion, you can choose from seven delightful rooms, all equipped with air conditioning, a fully equipped and luxurious bathroom, very comfortable beds, a seating area, coffee and tea making facilities, and much more. Two rooms are on the ground floor, while the upstairs rooms have a freight elevator. Family rooms are available for families. In the morning, you'll wake up to a generous breakfast consisting of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fruit juice, water, milk, cheeses, smoked salmon, various charcuterie, yogurt, fresh fruit, muesli, eggs, bacon, various rolls, raisin bread, chocolate, honey, croissants, chocolate biscuits, and other sweets. If you have any specific requests, such as gluten-free or lactose-free, we are happy to accommodate them.

The honesty bar offers beer, cava, wine, or soft drinks at a standard price. The hotel has created gastronomic packages for several (Michelin-starred) restaurants in the surrounding area.

Surroundings

Haspengouw is also known as the Tuscany of Belgium. It is the ideal region for those who love hiking and cycling, good food, nature, and culture. In spring, the region is famous for its beautiful fruit blossoms. As Belgium's oldest city, Tongeren has plenty to offer. Ranging from museums and historic buildings to shops, terraces, pubs, and restaurants of all shapes and sizes (nowhere else are there as many Michelin-starred restaurants as here!). And then, of course, there's the Sunday antique market, which is famous far and wide. Maastricht, Bilzen, Sint-Truiden, and even Hasselt are also easily accessible.

The name Caelus VII is a nod to the Roman god of the sky (Caelus) and the house number (VII). Together, they form ā€˜the seventh heaven’, and that is precisely the experience you can expect here as a guest. This building once served as a hat shop – a touch of the past that has been subtly preserved in the dĆ©cor. During the renovation, every effort was made to preserve the building’s authenticity.

Hasselt – aptly known as the ā€˜city of taste’ – is compact, cosy, brimming with restaurants and cafĆ©s, surprisingly green, and offers a mix of culture, shopping and good food.
