Chateau le Bois

2 chambre d’hôtes en 2 gîtes

These are the highlights

  • The swimming pool, with plenty of sun loungers and seating areas, a changing room and a spacious terrace, is available for everyone to use.

  • Guests staying in the gîtes can send their shopping lists in advance so that they don’t find an empty fridge on arrival.

  • If you don’t feel like cooking yourself, you can order a ready-made meal or enjoy the private chef’s culinary skills on the spot.

A French domain with three hectares of wooded land, Dutch owners and furthermore all possible ingredients for a wonderful stay. Welcome to Chateau Le Bois, which is less than a thousand kilometers from the Netherlands and where you can choose from two chambre d’hôtes and two gîtes.

The romantic B&B rooms are in the chateau, offer sufficient space and privacy and have a private bathroom. Both gîtes offer space for six guests and both houses are equipped with a nice bathroom, complete kitchen and excellent beds. There is also a private porch or garden for both, with lots of privacy to enjoy the outdoors for as long as possible.

For the common use of the guests, the swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers and seats, a bathhouse and a spacious terrace await. Barbecuing in consultation. Guests of the gîtes can order fresh bread and croissants from the local bakery three times a week. An extensive local breakfast or lunch package can also be ordered. In addition, shopping lists can be forwarded in advance so that you will not find an empty fridge on arrival. Those who do not feel like cooking can order a meal or enjoy the culinary arts of the private chef on the spot.

Surroundings

Saint Julien aux Bois is a small village in the Corrèze department that is part of the Limousin region in southwest France. Saint Julien aux Bois is a small village with around 450 inhabitants, a hotel and restaurant and a tennis court. The somewhat larger villages of Saint Privat and Pleaux, with more restaurants, terraces, shops and other facilities, are just a stone's throw away. The closest larger cities are Brive, Tulle (capital of the Correze), Argentat and Aurillac (capital of the Cantal). Winter sports are possible in the Massif Central. That is only a one hour drive.

Kees Tiebout

Jacqueline Westen and Kees Tiebout lived and worked in the Netherlands until 2017, but they enjoyed life in France at their second home so much that they eventually decided to settle permanently at their Château le Bois. Fortunately, they love keeping busy, as there is always work to be done on their centuries-old estate.
