La Maison du Cerf

5 guest rooms, including 3 family rooms

These are the highlights

  • The historic farmhouse is surrounded by a lovely garden with a magnificent view.

  • Table d’hôtes is available no fewer than six days a week.

  • For a day out, you can order a picnic basket filled with all sorts of local produce.

It was love at first sight between this beautiful farmhouse and Jolanda and Peter. The garden, the view, the location far away from mass tourism, and the surroundings: everything was just right. That is why five rooms were created to allow guests to share in the experience. All are spacious and have a private bathroom, are atmospheric, equipped with comfortable beds, complete with a seating area, and three rooms also feature extra beds so they can serve as family rooms.

An extensive breakfast is included. Consisting of, among other things, homemade jam, cheese, cold cuts, a freshly baked croissant, apple juice made from their own apples, and a fresh (boiled or fried) egg from the house chickens. There is also an honesty bar with various (non-)alcoholic drinks, and fine regional wines are available at reasonable prices.

Table d’hôtes is offered no less than six days a week, featuring organic vegetables from the host's own garden or the market, as well as organic free-range meat from the village farm. Upon request, you can also order a delicious picnic basket with all kinds of regional products. And if you wish to dine out, there are several restaurants to choose from.

The farmhouse is surrounded by a beautiful garden with a stunning view that can be enjoyed from the terrace or the hammock.

‘I can still picture us driving onto this site for the very first time,’ says Jolanda. ‘It was love at first sight. Or, as they say in French: nous sommes tombés amoureux. That building with its French doors, and in exactly the shades of green from my mood board, too. Once I’d crossed the threshold, I thought it couldn’t be true. So cool, so special and so much colour! A real gem. Two months later, this gem was ours and the adventure could begin.
