PuechBlanc

4 gîtes and 1 B&B room

These are the highlights

  • You’ll be staying at a wine farm that’s around 250 years old and was built from local white limestone.

  • When you arrive, there’ll definitely be a delicious meal waiting for you, so you won’t have to cook straight away.

  • During the season, you can pick fruit to your heart’s content from the many fruit trees on the estate

Who wouldn't want this? A beautiful domain of 2ha with a large swimming pool and that in a rolling hilly landscape with sunflowers and vines north of Toulouse. It is not without reason that this region is also called little Tuscany. At Puech Blanc you can choose from four charming gîtes and one B&B room.

The four gites are fully furnished, with spacious 1.80m beds, a complete kitchen, bathroom and a private terrace with hammock for the warm days. One gite is suitable for up to 4 people, the others are double. The B&B is extremely pleasant and brightly decorated and also equipped with every possible comfort. The room has a private bathroom and terrace and a beautiful view over the domain. Here too you have a kitchen corner so that you can cook a meal yourself if you want.

Every day, fresh bread and croissants are brought to the guests. A delicious meal awaits you upon arrival so that you don't have to cook straight away - on request, cooking is also possible during the week. Breakfast can also be provided for those who wish. The fourteen-metre swimming pool and the pétanque court are for everyone's enjoyment.

Surroundings

Puech Blanc, surrounded by a hundred wine estates, is situated in the ‘golden triangle’ of Gaillac, Albi and Cordes sur Ciel in the south-west of France with Toulouse just 80 km away and Albi, the main city of the Tarn, around 15 km away. Although this region is still relatively unknown, there is a lot to experience. Gaillac, with its shops and restaurants, is known as little Albi and is waiting 13 km away. The landscape is often called ‘little Tuscany’ because of the rolling hills, sunflowers and vines. During the summer there are many music festivals, brocantes and local markets. The river l’Averyrons is great for canoeing. The walking possibilities are endless and for golfers the most beautiful course along the river Tarn awaits.

History

This wine farm is about 250 years old and was built from local white limestone. Over the years, it has been regularly renovated and rebuilt. The current owners signed for the gites and the B&B room and also took the outside area in hand.

The owners, Andrea and Ian, try to treat the environment with as much respect as possible and do not use any pesticides. They leave the wild flowers to grow, and any food waste is either eaten by the chickens or goes onto the compost heap. They make their own soap, and there are solar panels on the roof. For breakfast, they make their own yoghurt, jam and apple juice.

What makes the historic episcopal city of Albi so special is its remarkable uniformity: almost all the buildings are constructed from warm red brick.
