B&B KunstKamer Franeker

Spacious suite for 2

These are the highlights

  • It’s not just that the B&B is spacious. In fact, you’ll have no less than 100m² at your disposal.

  • De grote tuin is er ook voor jou.

  • Here, you don’t just have breakfast – you enjoy a breakfast tasting experience. With as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.

The B&B is a party and not only because of the space and all the comfort you will find there, the delicious breakfast and the heartwarming welcome on site. You will also be treated to an 'art tasting' here: a presentation - in 2D and 3D - of contemporary art makers who play a very important role in the atmosphere of your stay. Think of it as a closer introduction to the space you can surround yourself with during your stay.

But now back to the B&B. It is for two and not just spacious, but consists of 100 square meters in which the living, dining and sleeping areas flow into each other - and complete with a spacious wheelchair-friendly, modern shower-toilet room. The entire space has a luxurious and, above all, a peaceful appearance. The decor is tasteful and - how could it be otherwise - you will find plenty of work by contemporary art makers.

There are ample seating options in the large garden surrounding the property. Plenty of parking on site and with the possibility to charge your electric bicycle. You can charge your car across the street. A regional breakfast tasting is all-in and for that breakfast you will be invited to the KunstKamer with a lot to look at, taste and experience.

Surroundings

Star of the Eleven Cities Franeker has had city rights since 1471 and has a rich history. The city center is partly surrounded by a beautiful stronghold. Monumental and historic buildings, often located on the beautiful canals, are plentiful and plentiful. The Royal Eise Eisinga planetarium is definitely worth a visit. This includes the impressive medieval Martini Church with its old tombstones and the city castle 'Martenastins', built in 1489, which now houses the special Museum Martena. In the Keats museum you can get acquainted with one of Friesland's oldest sports, 'bouncing'. Various walking, cycling, car and sailing routes await outside the city limits. Nearby are also cities such as Harlingen, Makkum, Leeuwarden, Bolsward and Dokkum. You can find even more art in the Belvédère museum in Heerenveen or in the Frisian and/or ceramics museum Princessehof in Leeuwarden. Maybe too many to choose from, but you certainly won't get bored here.

History

If the walls could talk… But they can't. Yet there is a lot to tell about the history of the building. Rob and Yvonne do that with all their love and at a time that suits you, when you stay with them.
