On the west façade are two comfortable furnished apartments for two to four persons. All apartments are spacious, attractively furnished, come with a kitchen, shower and toilet, and have a private entrance and terrace on the water. In addition, there are two private cottages right on the water front, suitable for four persons.
d’ Oude Herbergh has its own mooring places. Guests can bring their own boats but, we also rent open motor sloops and day cruisers for sailing. Daytrips with a skipper can be booked with our flat bottom sailing barge; the Nije Sylpream. Various packages are available on request.
Surroundings
This is an ideal base for exploring the lovely surroundings, both by water and land. Terherne has gained fame as Kameleondorp (Chameleon Village), where Hielke and Sietse Klinkhamer from the popular Chameleon book series experience the most exciting maritime adventures. The unique 50s and 60s atmosphere of the books has been beautifully captured in Chameleon Village. Located only a short distance from d’ Oude Herbergh are the scenic lakes ‘Terhernster Poelen’ and ‘Sneekermeer’, a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. There are also many delightful walking and cycling routes in the area. The picturesque towns of Joure, Grou and Sneek are all within easy reach.
History
d’ Oude Herbergh was built in 1870 and is an original ‘stolpboerderij’ ( typical Frysian farmhouse) with a thatched roof. The property is surrounded by water on three sides. During its renovation in 2002, the farm’s unique character was entirely preserved. Natural materials as well as modern elements have been used to finish the interior.

Cancellation
If cancellation is made less than two months before the rental date, 50 per cent of the rental amount will be charged. If cancellation is made less than one month before the rental date, 75 per cent of the rental amount will be charged. If cancellation is made within two weeks of the rental date, the full rental amount is due.
