Buitenhuisje Berg en Dal

cottage for 2

These are the highlights

  • The history of the De Engelenberg Estate, on which your cottage stands, dates back to the year 1648.

  • Bikes (with no fewer than seven gears!) are provided free of charge here.

  • In your private garden, you can enjoy the stunning view of the orchard and the historic beech-lined avenue, which is over a hundred years old, from the comfort of your sun lounger.

Buitenhuisje Berg en Dal is located on the De Engelenberg estate in the hills of the town of the same name. The estate has a height difference (varying between 70 and 105 meters above sea level) that was formed in the Ice Age. This allows you to enjoy un-Dutch panoramas.

The cottage (70m²) is tastefully and completely furnished for two people. There is a sitting room, bedroom with a spacious sitting area, a double bed (Auping 180 x 200), flat screen TV, a DVD player, a CD player and WiFi. Furthermore, the house has a fully equipped kitchen that is open to a spacious dining and reading area (with plenty of literary and philosophical books and magazines). In the private garden there are lovely sun loungers where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the orchard and the more than hundred year old monumental beech avenue.

Surroundings

The cottage is surrounded by nature, situated close to Nijmegen. You can follow a lovely walking and cycling route directly from the B&B. Bicycles are available. You can play golf just 2 km away. You can also visit the City of Kleve in Germany (15 minutes driving) or Düsseldorf (1 hour driving). The town Berg en Dal, with a variety of restaurants is just 5 minutes walking away.

History

From around 50 before Christ, to approximately 350 after Christ, this was Roman territory, leading to Roman archaeological finds close by the B&B. The more recent history of the estate dates back to 1648. The first house was built in 1832.
