Landgoedhoeve Vosbergen

The Vosbergen estate is situated amidst the lush greenery of Gelderland, close to the De Veluwse Bron wellness resort. Accommodation options include a B&B suite or the lodge. This listed country estate, featuring a network of avenues, lies on the edge of the village of Heerde between the Northern Veluwe and the IJssel Valley, surrounded by the Hanseatic cities of Deventer, Zwolle, and Hattem.

A beautiful loft for four people has been created in the old barn. The front section of the farmhouse houses two guest rooms with an additional shared central room; these are highly authentic and tastefully furnished, each featuring its own seating area and bathroom. The hostess serves a fantastic breakfast in the farmhouse’s formal parlour or—weather permitting—outdoors beneath the centuries-old oak trees. On such days, there is also the lovely woodland garden to enjoy together.

The hostess, who is a cook at the same time, serves breakfast and dinner (if desired, of course) in the garden or inside in the stylish middle room. There is also a wide range of good restaurants in the vicinity.

Surroundings

Vosbergen estate, situated on the outskirts of Heerde, is a perfect base for walking and cycling. To the west lies the North Veluwe with the Renderklippen, the Dellen, Petrea estate and the forest of Zwolle. Vast forests with heath and a variety of hiking and biking routes. Towards the east you can reach the Yssel valley by bicycle: a setting with ancient dikes, brooks, pastures with grazing cows and stately farmhouses. At the end of the driveway the national cycling route(junction 91) begins, and the first walk on the estate itself is a must! The Veluwe spa, between Apeldoorn and Zwolle, is ten minutes by car from the Vosbergen farm estate. This spa resort is a 2.1 acre estate offering more than 9000m2 with the finest spa facilities. In the Hanseatic cities of Deventer, Zwolle and Hattem you can experience culture to your heart’s content.

History

The history of this farm estate (nowadays a national monument!) has been determined by the history of Vosbergen castle. This Saxon farm house is located at Vosbergen estate, just outside the castle’s moat. Vosbergen has been classified as a protected villa with lane system from the seventeenth century, belonging to the ‘Nature preserve law’ . Parts of the castle date back to the fifteenth century. The farm dates probably from 1715 and was used for farming and animal husbandry until 1968. Recently the current owners completely restored the buildings and the property, and created two guest rooms in the house.
