In the historic and lively city centre of Zutphen stands the Huis met de Luiken – a listed building dating from 1629. History

The Hanseatic city of Zutphen is the second-oldest city in the Netherlands. Once a city of industry, large markets and trade from the hinterland to the IJssel and beyond, it is now a city with unique shops set in beautiful heritage buildings, historic courtyards, delightful restaurants, pubs and terraces, and a wealth of culture. The narrow, tall ‘Huis met de Luiken’ dates from 1629 and is now a listed building. The house has a rich urban history and a colourful past. In days gone by, it was home to skippers and merchants, tinsmiths and ordinary butchers, winemakers and bottlers. Today, the owners combine the functions of a private residence, a shop and a B&B.
