Alkenrode Logies is located in an authentic, beautifully restored square farmhouse in the hills of Limburg. The holiday home offers ample space and plenty of luxury and comfort for four to a maximum of six guests. There is a large kitchen with all possible equipment, up to and including a 6-burner SMEG stove with double oven and dishwasher. There is a washing machine and microwave in the cloakroom.In the living room the wood-burning stove burns and there is a Smart TV on colder days. Upstairs are two bedrooms that each have their own luxury bathroom. A third bathroom is located on the ground floor, where you can also find the sauna, rain shower and the antique bath. Double doors give access to a large terrace with garden furniture. Petanque court, laid out in the shade of two very old cherry trees, may also be used by guests.
The upstairs apartment is also equipped with a full kitchen, a bathroom with a bathtub and rain shower, and a lovely double bedroom. You get a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to enjoy in the bath, and the private terrace is located on the ground floor.
Surroundings
Elkenrade is a small hamlet of less than 100 inhabitants and belongs to the municipality of Gulpen-Wittem. Elkenrade is situated on the top of a hill in the astonishing hilly landscape of South Limburg. It is completely embedded in a rural area with a lot of meadows and forest. An ideal starting point for your explorations to discover unique flora and fauna. Elkenrade is also centrally located to visit culturally rich cities from all three countries in the area: Aachen in Germany, Liège in Belgium and Maastricht in The Netherlands are all close by.
History
This special guest house has been created in an authentic farmhouse. The guesthouse has been stylishly restored respecting the history of the farm. The use of a local stone called “Kunradersteen”, old oak beams and clay gives this holiday home an authentic character while all luxury is available.

In 1999, Hanneke Heintges and Ralph Thomas took the plunge and bought a neglected square farmhouse in the hamlet of Elkenrade, which stood there like a rough diamond. It took years of hard work to make the diamond sparkle again, but the result is well worth it!
