Stella Suites
8 suites and 4 spacious rooms
These are the highlights
-
Less than a minute’s walk from Stella Suites, you’ll find Stella Rooms, housed in a listed building and offering four spacious rooms.
-
Some rooms have a freestanding bath and a patio or balcony.
At Stella Suites, you’ll find eight unique and luxurious suites. No two suites are the same, yet they all have one thing in common: no compromises have been made on design and comfort. At Stella, you’ll sleep in the very best beds, from Morph Design. All rooms feature a separate toilet, air conditioning, a rain shower, an LED TV with Chromecast (for Netflix) and free high-speed Wi-Fi. Some rooms feature a freestanding bath and a patio or balcony.
Stella’s latest addition: Stella Rooms! Less than a minute’s walk from Stella Suites, situated in a listed building, four new, spacious rooms have been created. Slightly different from Stella Suites but equally well-equipped: a private bathroom with shower (Marie Stella Maris toiletries) and toilet, air conditioning, a spacious double bed, a Smart TV (with access to Netflix), a mini-fridge, coffee/tea facilities and a dining/work table. You could also call these rooms ‘mini apartments’.
You can choose and book the services that matter to you yourself, such as a delicious breakfast in your room.
Surroundings
There’s plenty to do and see in the surrounding area. For example, Efteling and Beekse Bergen are nearby, and Thermen Goire is just five minutes away. The opportunities for walking and cycling in the surrounding nature reserves are endless, whilst Tilburg and Breda have a great deal to offer in terms of culture and gastronomy.
History
In 1902, orders were given for the construction of a villa that would later become known as Huize Stella. The villa was purchased in 1918 by Frits van Puijenbroek. Whilst on a business trip to Romania, Frits met the Belarusian Stella Ionescu-Dimitriu and brought her back with him. However, getting married proved not to be so straightforward, as Stella had no documents to prove that she was Roman Catholic. It was only after Frits promised to bequeath his Huize Stella to the church that the marriage took place. To this day, the villa remains a well-known building in Goirle and the surrounding area, mainly because the house, built in the Jugendstil style, has been so well preserved.

The host
In 2018, Marleen Sala noticed that the house where she used to play as a small child was up for sale. It took some effort to convince the local council that a thorough renovation to turn it into a hotel was a good idea. Marleen persevered and, after a long period of renovation work, during which many of the old features were restored to their former glory, Stella Suites opened its doors. Inside, the beautiful old entrance hall and distinctive features such as stained-glass windows were combined with contemporary design. And so the building where she used to play as a child was brought back to life.
