De Stolpjes

Nostalgic, picturesque and atmospheric, those are the key words for these two cozy stolpjes, called 't Veldzicht and 'Thuysje. They are spacious, offer space for two to a maximum of four people and each have their own entrance and a fixed staircase to the top, where a comfortable double bed awaits. From your bed you look out over the old orchard, which borders the water, while on the other side is a park with flowers and even more fruit trees. A better start to the day is hardly imaginable, right?

Downstairs you will find the well-equipped kitchen and it is nice to relax on the spacious lounge sofa, which can also be converted into a sofa bed for two people. In Stolpje ’t Veldzicht there is a lovely little box bed for the little ones, accessible from the bedroom upstairs. Perfect for playing, hiding or just ‘chilling’.

The bathrooms are practically furnished, with a spacious walk-in rain shower and a stylish washbasin. The toilet is separate, which is very convenient. And because we understand that a stay can sometimes last longer, the stolpjes are equipped with all the facilities to make it as comfortable as possible.

It is also nice to stay outside. Each stolpje has its own parking space and access to the spacious orchard of no less than 1800 m². Your own terrace borders directly on the stolpje and is fenced and lockable - ideal if your dog(s) are travelling with you.

Surroundings

You will find the farmstead of the stolpjes on the edge of the cozy Tuitjenhorn where all important facilities can be found (supermarket, bakery, butcher and local entrepreneurs such as Bolle Hendrik for culinary snacks). The area is typically North Holland: a beautiful mix of winding ring dikes, vast polders and forests. In the spring you are surrounded by colorful tulip fields, through which the ring canals meander gracefully. And as if that were not enough, the beach is also waiting just 7 kilometers away. You can choose from various beautiful coastal towns such as Hargen aan Zee, Bergen aan Zee, Petten, Sint Maartenszee or Callantsoog - each with their own beach pavilions. The famous Schoorlse Duinen are also easily accessible. There are restaurants galore in the village itself, in Schagen and in Alkmaar.

History

This stolp farm dates from 1888 and is a typical West Frisian icon: impressive wooden beams that reach from the ground floor to high in the ridge, wooden floors with character, old screeds in the kitchen and beams with small traces of woodworm, a traditional thatched roof and even authentic box beds in the front house. And then the dars — the large barn — still paved with real farmer's yellow bricks. The woodworm has now been eliminated and the farm has been completely renovated and modernized. With comfortable underfloor heating, luxurious bathrooms, a cozy wood stove and a spacious kitchen. Inspired by this unique architectural style, two smaller stolpjes were built on the site: Stolpje ’t Thuysje and Stolpje ’t Veldzicht. There you can now enjoy all the beauty that this place and the area have to offer.
