Hoeve De Haar

12 B&B rooms, 7 room types

These are the highlights

  • This farmhouse is situated on the extraordinary Twickel Estate.

  • The B&B’s garden flows straight into the ‘course’ of the Twentsche Golf Club in Delden (18 holes).

  • In the summer, you can enjoy the blissful peace and quiet of the enormous garden.

After the present owners had acquired the buildings, the farmstead has undergone a complete and beautiful restauration. The main building now offers seven independent, luxurious twin-bedded apartments each with their own bathroom and entry. There are three somewhat larger apartments so there is room for a cot or a child's bed.

The large living room is used for breakfast and the former hunting room is also shared by guets. The 'de Haar'farmstead is eminently suited for larger groups and meetings. The owners both have their own studios in the building, the lady paints as a pastime and her husband is an interioir designer and advisor.

Surroundings

There is no garden in the proper sense of the word as the farmstead is an intergral part of the surrounding grounds. An early riser may even run into a deer. The ancient Twickel Estate boasts two working mills, one for lineseed and the ancient sawmill. The 'de Haar' grounds are adjeacent to an 18 hole golf course. There are numerous possibilities for walking or cycling as well as for shopping and dinding. The old Twickel Estate, the orangerie, its park and its gardens, are open for guests from 'de Haar'.

According to those in the know, the 650-year-old Twickel estate, which forms part of the 16th-century Twickel Castle, is perhaps the most beautiful part of Twente. Set amidst this breathtaking natural beauty are 150 ancient Twickel farmhouses, recognisable by their black-and-white shutters. Hoeve De Haar comprises three listed buildings. As the farmstead and its grounds form an integral part of the characteristic Twente landscape, the entire site is protected under the Natural Beauty Act.
