Erfgoed Bossem

Rooms, suites and more

These are the highlights

  • When you visit this heritage site, you can, if you wish, receive a detailed explanation of farm life in the past and present.

  • Whenever possible, the huge open fire is lit in the ‘deel’, the former cowshed.

  • Bossems Boerenkeuken selects high-quality local produce in line with the Slow Food principle of ‘think global, eat local’.

Erfgoed Bossem is situated amidst the beautiful patchwork landscape of Twente, about five kilometres from the historic town of Ootmarsum. The original farmhouse offers five spacious, comfortable farm rooms, each with a private bathroom including shower and toilet. A delicious breakfast is served in the authentic farmhouse kitchen.

If so desired, guests of Erfgoed Bossem can learn all about life on a farm - today and in the past. Uptill now the farm is still in full operation. Suitable for wheelchair users.

Surroundings

The area is ideal for cycling and walking. Singraven Castle and Cosmos Discovery Centre (observatory) are within walking distance. Also easy to reach are the Hanseatic city of Oldenzaal, a traditional flour windmill and the authentic ‘klöpkeshoes’, a house in which single, religious ladies used to live in times when freedom of worship did not exist. There are many restaurants in the area for a lovely meal out.

History

This Saxon farm, surrounded by scenic natural beauty, has been actively farmed for centuries. Its characteristic style has been preserved over the years and is in many ways still reminiscent of bygone times. If so desired, guests of Erfgoed Bossem can learn all about life on a farm - today and in the past.

Familie Rerink

Since 2007, Dennis Rerink has been managing Erfgoed Bossem as the fifth generation of the family. Drawing on the family’s rich history, everyone at Erfgoed Bossem is committed to preserving the natural cycle and demonstrating that the combination of agriculture, food and tourism can truly be done differently and better. Erfgoed Bossem is a place where everyone wins, because we do what’s right for both animals and people. And above all, we work together, in the true spirit of ‘neighbourliness’. Here you can feel the sense of community; this is country life at its purest.
