Studio Wilgenhorst
Studio for up to 4 persons
These are the highlights
-
The episodes of the legendary Dutch television program *Swiebertje* were filmed in and around De Wilgenhorst.
-
The Studio overlooks the river, where you can also go for a swim (there is a jetty and a swimming ladder).
-
You can use that same jetty to moor your dinghy if you’re arriving by boat.
This comfortable studio is the perfect starting point for exploring historic Oudewater and the natural beauty of the Hollandse IJssel river. The studio overlooks the river, is fully equipped, and has a private entrance, private parking, a beautiful, spacious private bathroom, a kitchenette, and a private spot in the large garden. The separate bedroom is upstairs and furnished with a generous double bed (box spring 200x180cm). A comfortable sofa bed is available on the ground floor for two additional guests.
Naturally, a delicious breakfast with accompanying regional products is included. In the garden, you're welcome to use two canoes and two SUP boards. You can also enjoy swimming in the river with the convenience of your own jetty and ladder. You can use the same jetty to moor your sloop if you arrive by boat.
Surroundings
Flowering orchards, flowering cow parsley on the dike, and above all, a sense of tranquility made the owners instantly fall in love with this thatched-roof country house in the Groene Hart region. Situated directly on the Hollandse IJssel River, there are also countless opportunities for walking and cycling. Oudewater, the oldest town in the Groene Hart region, is nearby. It lies at the mouth of the Lange Linschoten River and the Hollandse IJssel River and boasts over 300 historic buildings, 97 municipal monuments, and 127 national monuments. This gives Oudewater the highest density of monuments in the Netherlands. Besides this abundance of history and culture, there is also plenty of entertainment to be found in the form of restaurants and shops.

De Wilgenhorst was built in 1929 on the instructions of Alexandre Jean Joseph van der Voo, a well-off artist, who lived there until his death in 1954. In 2002, the house was connected to the hayloft by an extension. In 2018, the hayloft (which had previously served as a carport) was converted into a self-contained guesthouse. This is now De Studio, where you will be welcomed as a guest. The main house and the adjoining stables have been designated as Municipal Monuments.
