Landgoed Linschoten, De Elsehof

Holiday home (2 to 4 guests)

These are the highlights

  • Covering more than 500 hectares, the Linschoten Estate is the largest contiguous estate in the Randstad and is situated in the heart of the Green Heart of the Netherlands.

  • The holiday home is situated in the summer cottage at the Elsehof farmstead (80m²).

  • In the secluded garden, the sun loungers are ready and waiting, and you can enjoy the view of the orchard and the peace and quiet.

De Elsehof is tucked away in the heart of the Linschoten Estate; the summer house belonging to the historic farmhouse is available for rent for short and long holidays. The house is furnished for two to four adults. It features a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living room, two bedrooms, and a lovely bathroom with a shower and bathtub. The rental is on a self-catering basis, but the kitchen cupboards and refrigerator are not empty!

It is wonderful to spend time in the delightful, secluded garden bordering the apple orchard.
When you wake up in the morning to the sounds of birds and look out of the bedroom window, you have the most beautiful view in the province of Utrecht!

Surroundings

Spanning over 500 hectares, the Linschoten Estate is the largest contiguous estate within the Randstad. It comprises fourteen listed farmhouses—seven of which remain in active agricultural use—a manor house dating from 1637, and a wooded parkland. The estate is situated in the heart of the "Green Heart" (Groene Hart) and its natural surroundings, yet lies just a fifteen-minute drive from the city centers of Utrecht and Gouda. Nearby fortified towns such as Oudewater, IJsselstein, and Montfoort are also easily accessible.

History

The history of the Linschoten Estate dates back to the early Middle Ages. Over the centuries, the property has seen a variety of residents, uses, and renovations. Today, the estate features a grand, castle-like manor house, a wooded park, and various farmhouses and outbuildings.

The estate is unique because of its size, the high quality of its landscape, its natural heritage and its many listed buildings. Its management is focused on ensuring that all of this is preserved. ‘It is up to our generation to fulfil this mission. Future generations will be deeply grateful to us for it.’
