Restaurant en Boutique hotel De Nederlanden
10 luxury rooms and an award-winning restaurant
These are the highlights
-
The building in which De Nederlanden is located dates back to 1680 and, like the whole village, exudes a sense of nostalgia.
-
The award-winning restaurant in the Netherlands serves divine dishes, which are served on the sea wall in summer.
-
The level of luxury in the rooms is particularly evident in the amount of floor space available and in the bathroom fittings.
Where do we start with an introduction to De Nederlanden in Vreeland? At the award-winning restaurant, which serves Divine dishes? The hotel, where you bathe in luxury? The beautiful location on the Vecht? Or the passion and craftsmanship of the owners and their team?
The kitchen, led by Patron Cuisinier and SVH Master Chef Wilco Berends and sous chef Franko Ferreri, was awarded by Michelin with a star and by Gault Millau with 17 points. Wilco likes to work with products from North Holland (his birthplace!). But local products also fit into his cooking style that is distinctly pure, based on the French style, peppered with global influences but always with a Dutch touch. In 2006 he came to Vreeland. First as an employee, later as co-owner and since October 2012 as full owner of De Nederlanden. In the summer, it is served outside on the dike. In the winter, the fireplace burns in the lounge.
The small-scale boutique hotel is located on the first and second floor above the restaurant and has ten rooms, four of which are comfortable, five luxurious and one suite. All rooms were thoroughly renovated in early 2018. All modern comfort and contemporary amenities are therefore standard in all room types. The degree of luxury is mainly reflected in the number of available square meters and in the equipment of the bathrooms.
De Nederlanden is also equipped for business meetings, private dinners and weddings and offers various sailing arrangements.
Surroundings
The host
The host
The kitchen team at De Nederlanden has a clear philosophy: the ingredients must be of the highest quality and sourced ethically. This allows the dishes to be prepared without unnecessary embellishment, allowing all the flavours to come into their own. Wilco prefers to use seasonal and local produce as much as possible. ‘Cooking with honest and local ingredients in a way that brings the senses to life.’
