B&B Wapen van Kattendijke

Opposite a monumental church and an old bandstand, within walking distance of the Oosterschelde National Park and a stone's throw from historic Goes, you will find B&B Wapen van Kattendijke with three wonderful guest accommodations and a lot of extras. Two guest rooms are upstairs, one in the Mediterranean garden. The modern air conditioning system keeps the accommodations at a pleasant temperature in every season, bath and bed linen are of the highest quality and each guest house has its own lounge chairs, coffee & tea facilities and of course WiFi.

'Onder de Toren' has its own entrance on the outside of the building, a sunny roof terrace with lounge chairs, a separate toilet room and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. 'De Lantaarn' is spacious and light, while the old shutters in front of the large window niches ensure that you can darken the room well. This residence offers a view of the beautiful garden with the pond. You enter your attractive bathroom through a spacious landing. The toilet is separate from the bathroom. 'Wapen van Zeeland' is located in the sunny garden and has its own veranda with a view of the garden and the pond. This guesthouse also has a beautiful bathroom and a separate toilet.

On summer days, the garden and the beautiful veranda await everyone's use and in winter the wood stove burns inside. Cooking and good food and drinks are the passion of the host and hostess. In the morning you will be spoiled with a surprise breakfast at the long café table in the atmospheric old café and you can join the table d'hôtes package for a four-course vegetarian & fish dinner, in which local products of the season play the leading role.

Surroundings

B&B 'Wapen van Kattendijke' is located on the village square of the idyllic village of Kattendijke, within walking distance of the Oosterschelde. From the dike you can see the Oosterschelde National Park with the Zeeland Bridge, Zierikzee and Stavenisse in the distance. On the other side, looking out over the mainland, the typical contours of Goes and the surrounding villages with their church towers are visible. For nature lovers, the former Wijtvliet awaits outside the village, where numerous birds can be spotted. There are also protected bird areas along the Oosterschelde. At high tide you can swim at the old harbor and at low tide it is possible to pick oysters. Just outside the village is a well-known diving spot on the Oosterschelde. The Goese Golf, the largest golf complex in Zeeland, is 3 kilometers from the B&B. The town of Goes is easily accessible and has a pleasant center with covered terraces around the Magdalena Church and a rich cultural offer. Kattendijke is also a good base for a trip to the beaches of Walcheren, the cities of Middelburg and Veere and also the Belgian cities of Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp.

History

The beautiful building where the B&B is now, was in operation as a village pub for over 100 years. In 2012 it became a residential house. Ten years later, the current owners fell in love with it. With great care they have breathed new life into the building by refurbishing it and turning it into a B&B.
