How about an overnight stay by the water in beautiful Veere? Hotel Noorderhoofd’s rooms are spread across three historic listed buildings (Kaai 8, 10, and 19). There are twelve rooms in total, all carefully furnished and equipped with every essential. Some are spacious enough to accommodate a third or fourth person, while others offer a cozy setting for two. Dogs are welcome in most of the ground-floor rooms. Breakfast is served at Hotel de Campveerse Toren, where you can also enjoy dinner; notably, Oosterschelde lobster is a fixture on the menu from April 1st to July 15th. Of course, there are plenty of options for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.
Surroundings
Little is known about the exact origins of Veere, but it is certain that the town has been a place of significance for over 700 years. Veere is renowned both at home and abroad for its striking location on the Veerse Meer (Lake Veere) and is beloved for its historic beauty. There is a small beach right by the Veerse Meer, and other nearby beaches include Vrouwenpolder, Breezand, Oranjezon, Domburg, and Neeltje Jans. Shopping in Middelburg offers the chance to wander past unique shops set against an impressive backdrop of historic architecture.eere
The host
The host
Hendrina van Cranenburgh was the owner of Hotel de Campveerse Toren until early 2026. The inn was built between 1358 and 1390, at a time when Veere had been granted town privileges and was in the process of building a town wall. Gastronomy and hospitality are not only in the DNA of the Campveerse Toren – which has been in use as such for five centuries – but are also second nature to Hendrina. Her new hotel is her passion and her life, and you can be sure that she will pamper you and that you will want for nothing under her roof.
