For those who’d like to, there’s a guest table, and your hostess uses fresh produce every day, often including organic vegetables from her own garden or her grandfather’s garden.

Local produce is also processed here into jellies and jams, honey and herb-infused vinegar. All these delicacies are available for purchase.

Visits to the orchards, the apiary and the herb garden can be arranged on request.
The three rooms that Het Pahilleke has to offer are sober, stylish and warm. One room has a bathroom with shower and washbasin, a double bed on the first floor and two single beds on the mezzanine floor. The second room has a bathroom with a bath and a washbasin, a double bed on the first floor and two extra beds on the mezzanine floor. The third room, renovated recently and therefore all new, has a bathroom with a rain-shower and an integrated dressing room.
For those who like to stay in for dinner, there is a guest table. In the kitchen they work with daily fresh products, often from their own biological garden or grandpa’s garden. In short, a country kitchen with a tasteful touch.
The products of the land are being processed into jelly, marmalades, honey and spiced vinegar. Naturally these products are for sale. Groups of more than 50 persons are welcome to visit the orchards, the bees and the herb garden. After the visit there is coffee, scones and a tasting of marmalades and jellies.
Surroundings
The vicinity knows beautiful nature and picturesque villages and hamlets with many walking and biking routes. Thirsty souls can go to the authentic inns. Ieper (with countless war sites), Poperinge and Veurne are close by, as well as Watou with its art, Beauvoorde with its Summer of Poetry and the Gregorian festival in St. Jan ter Biezen. The coast is only half an hour away and Lille just 45 minutes. The absolute pride of the region is the Abbey of the Trappists Sint Sixtus and the pub In de Vrede (which means In Peace). Only here, in walking distance from Het Pahilleke (!), they serve the real trappist beer.

It all began with a long-cherished dream of starting a B&B. This dream had taken root whilst the family were living in Thailand, where they were impressed by the Eastern philosophy and the great hospitality they encountered there. It was not until much later that this 100-year-old farmhouse was purchased and the dream came true.
