Château du Tirondet, an estate of over 27 hectares with a spacious garden enclosed by meadows where Charolais cows roam, is a wonderful place to completely relax and recharge. The domaine is located in the quiet Creuse, the 'France profonde'. The estate has been transformed into a small-scale holiday domain. You can choose from several luxurious and fully equipped holiday homes with lots of privacy. All comfort to give you an unforgettable time is available. The gites vary from two to seven persons.

From the garden you immediately enter the 13 hectare private forest with various hiking trails, where you can walk freely. To really relax, there is the heated swimming pool (open from May 1 to September 15) and the terrace where you can enjoy a meal on different days of the week. There is also a sandwich and breakfast service with fresh bread, croissants or a well-stocked breakfast basket every morning.

In the high season (July and August) you can book per week, with arrival on Saturday. We will welcome you with a buffet with soup, bread, cheeses and salads, so that you no longer have to provide your own food after the trip. Outside the high season you can arrive from Monday to Saturday and the length of stay is at least two nights.

Surroundings

Right in the heart of France you will find the real French farmland of the Creuse, where mass tourism is still unknown and which is characterized by the many hedges and small lakes that you encounter between the castles, country houses and small villages. The nearest village of Sannat has a small local shop, run by volunteers for some small groceries and local products such as cheeses, jam, honey and beer. Less than a 15 kilometer drive are larger villages with supermarkets, shops, restaurants and markets.

The history of this noble estate – complete with a chapel, old tenant cottages, a country house, an old bakehouse with an intact bread oven and various barns – stretches back centuries and has seen various owners and uses. The original château was demolished during the French Revolution, and the second château had to make way for the current ‘maison bourgeoise’ around 1850. Guido and Priscilla de Visser have turned it into a place where you can look forward to a carefree and peaceful holiday. That’s exactly what makes you happy, isn’t it?
